Potty training Tips!

Why....oh why?  Tonight I found my son hiding and silent in his cute blue car undies in the living room behind a rockin chair. One look and I knew it was gonna be bad....
I said "hurry run to the potty!"  , but the "junk in the trunk" assured me I was just too late....and I was right, there ended up being a  horror show in the bathroom of green, nastiness! All I can say is thank GOD for paper towels and Dawn dish soap!  Forget toddler wipes ...for jobs like these those little wipes just don't cut it! Not to mention my 2 1/2 year old boy is the size of a 4 year old!! So everything that comes out of him is massive and manly also...grosss. Potty training is definitely on the bottom of the mom totem pole. Yeah it's down there with clipping toe nails, and cleaning up puke.  But it has to be done!  Even though Levi is not all the way potty trained yet I figured I would share some tips that have helped me.....

Levi is doing really great with potty training, besides the occasional "episode" and some things that have really helped me are Sticker charts... I tried candy with my daughter  Nyah and she loved that but after a while it starts to get a little too much, and we ended up doing sticker charts for her too and that worked really well. Levi loves trains so we do a train track that I found at the link below and after he goes He puts a sticker on the track. Click the link to print your own off.........

Another Helpful potty tip for boys  is to let them watch there daddy go, Boys love there daddies and wanna be just like them, so any chance I have when my hubby is home I send Levi to the potty with him! Plus it gives me a break ;) I tell him He should go potty like daddy and be a big boy, and he likes that!

I also don't do any kind of pull-ups at all I just go straight to underwear when I think they are ready, that way there isn't any confusion, I think they feel too much like diapers and in undies they can feel "wet".

So thats our plan and we are stickin to it, it worked for Ny and we are almost done with Levi, I just have to venture out of the house with undies, and that will be the finale!

I leave you with the potty dance:

Happy Potty Training!
